GIMS Launches First Public Hospital-Based Incubation Centre in Uttar Pradesh
In a groundbreaking move poised to revolutionize healthcare innovation in Uttar Pradesh, GIMS (Government Institute of Medical Sciences) proudly announces the inauguration of the first-ever Public Hospital-Based Incubation Centre on 01st June, 2024. Spearheading this transformative initiative, GIMS stands at the forefront of fostering cutting-edge medical technologies and software solutions.
“Inauguration of “Centre for Medical Innovation-GIMS” was conducted on 01stJune, 2024 PM at GIMS, G. Noida by Chief Guest Dr. Atul Goel, Director General of Health Services alongside Dr. Chhaya Chauhan, Head of Incubation at BIRAC. Distinguished leaders from premier institutions such as IIT also grace the occasion, underscoring the collaborative spirit driving this monumental endeavour.
In his address, DGHS emphasized the need of primary prevention to prevent diseases before it occur by implementing interventions, He interacted with all the start up founders and advised them to work on preventive diseases, rather than diagnostics and Therapeutics. He alss advised to start NCD clinic and training for paramedical students in collaboration with NCDC at GIMS. He also discussed about World No Tobacco Day which was on 31st May and encourages raising awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco use and encourages people to quit smoking and other forms of tobacco consumption. During the program DGHS also interacted with the GIMS faculties.

With over 30 startups already incubated, GIMS boasts a diverse portfolio spanning medical devices, software solutions, and disease prevention initiatives. As one of the two Stanford University Biodesign Centers in Uttar Pradesh, GIMS has emerged as a beacon of excellence. Moreover, GIMS-affiliated startups have garnered international recognition, with representation at prestigious events such as GLOBAL BIO India and Shark Tank sessions.
The incubation center at GIMS offers more than just workspace; it serves as a hub for validation of medical devices and software, facilitating the translation of ideas into impactful solutions.
